ABOUT ME

R&C Endurance Coaching

Hi!

My name is Blaž, and I’m the founder of R&C Endurance Coaching.
Endurance sports have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. In my teenage years, I began training and competing in mountain biking, particularly in the disciplines of Cross-country (XCO) and Marathon (XCM), and later also in running over various distances.

Over the years, I’ve taken on a wide range of endurance challenges, both self-organized and official events—everything from short, high-intensity races to ultra-distance efforts. I enjoy them all, but in recent years, I’ve found a particular passion for longer events.

Experiences That Have Taught Me The Most:

Everesting

8,848m elevation gain – cycling

K24 Ultra Trail 2018

50km trail running

4Islands

multi-stage MTB race

Dalmacija Ultra Trail 2018

100km trail running

  • SloXcup National Mountain Bike Series (2015–2019)
  • Everesting (8,848 m elevation gain – cycling)
  • 4Islands (multi-stage MTB race)
  • Dalmacija Ultra Trail 2018 (100 km – trail running)
  • K24 Ultra Trail 2018 (50 km – trail running)
  • Dalmacija Ultra Trail 2019 (120 km – trail running)
  • Vipava Ultra Trail 2024 (160 km – trail running)
  • 8-hour Sv. Ana Challenge 2024 (running)

Along the way, I also completed my studies at the Faculty of Sport in Ljubljana, specializing in Kinesiology, which gave me a deeper understanding of endurance sports and human physiology.

Most importantly, I discovered my true passion: sharing my knowledge and experience with other dedicated runners and cyclists, and helping them feel strong, well-prepared, and confident to face the effort that awaits them.

My Approach To Athlete Training

I believe that training should be designed to coexist with an athlete’s life, not compete against it. With every athlete, I first establish a personal connection and, through conversation, get to know their background, goals, and limitations — only then do we start talking about the numbers that matter in training.

Over the years, through my own training and coaching others, I’ve learned that there is no one perfect training program. Every athlete needs a plan that’s tailored to them. My methods are based on a combination of science, practical experience, and an individual-focused approach.

Especially when working with amateur athletes, I aim to adapt the training process to the demands of work and family life, so they don’t become overwhelmed or burned out from training.

The main principle I follow is:
“Complex training simplified.”
That means I strive to simplify the training process as much as possible. Training can be complex and full of details, and athletes often get caught up in perfecting the small things — while forgetting the fundamental factors that have the biggest impact on performance.
